Tsu-ma-as Transformation Centre Port Alberni, BC

Info

A joint venture of the Tseshaht and Hupacasath First Nations, the Transformation Centre will be a supportive community facility with programs designed to foster positive community growth and healing of past traumas related to the Residential School Program.
LTA has designed the building to utilize almost 100% wood and engineered wood components above the concrete foundation in an innovative system of pre-manufactured elements. The ambition of this system is to create a ''construction kit'', utilizing a minimum number of different building components with maximum repetition to achieve significant construction cost economy by reducing the on-site construction processes to a mere assembly of high quality, pre-finished elements.
