This project is a prime example of a community effort with practically all members including pupils, parents, teachers, councillors, and the Chiefs of the four Nations participating in the design from day 1 through multiple design charrettes. This participation resulted in the traditional cultural heritage of the Coast Salish people being expressed throughout the architectural forms.

The school was constructed under a Construction Management contract with significant participation of band labour.
