This project is a prime example of community effort and involvement with practically all members including pupils, parents, teachers, councillors, and the Chief participating in the design from day 1 through multiple design charrettes. This participation resulted in the expression of the Nuu-Chah-Nulth's cultural heritage throughout the architectural forms.

This project was constructed under a Construction Management contract and almost entirely by band labour with the exception of a few trades. The school was completed within the scheduled time and below the estimated budget.
