We are seeking a full-time Project and Communications Administrator that will act as the “right-hand” to the Principal, providing overall administration and coordination support on projects.

Job description:
• Manage Principal’s correspondence, calendars, phone calls and meetings
• Prepare proposals, reports, presentations, feasibility studies and marketing materials
• Prepare monthly client invoices, track and monitor project invoices and expenses
• Monitor and identify opportunities for EOIs, RFQs, and RFPs
• Make all travel and accommodation arrangements
• General administrative duties

Skills and qualifications:
• Professional business writing, grammar and communications skills in English are essential
• Exceptional organizational, administrative and time management skills
• Some accounting experience and knowledge of procedures and principles
• Typing skills – a minimum of 50 wpm
• Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Outlook and MS Office suite
• Demonstrable skills in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat
• Ability to self-manage tasks from start to finish with minimal oversight
• Experience working in an architecture or engineering firm is an asset

Salary and benefits:
Salary commensurate with experience. Extended medical benefits available after 3 months.

WoodWorks! Design Award Winner 2019

Kwakiutl Wagaslus Schools wins award for Western Red Cedar. The award recognized the beauty of Western red cedar used in the interiors of the school. Lubor Trubka and Wendy Crowe thanked the Kwakiutl Band for the opportunity to work with them. Lubor Trubka and Wendy Crowe accepted the award at the 2019 WoodWorks! Design Awards in BC on March 4, 2019.

Lubor is currently on a Technical Tour of Norway organized by UBC Centre for Advanced Wood Processing to visit sites that showcase innovative wood design and Construction. The entire group will be attending Holzbau Nordic "Building our Future with Wood" Conference and Lubor will be making a presentation at the Conference titled "Large Span Structures, Examples from British Columbia"

The Building Tender for construction of Kwakiutl Wagalus School was awarded to AFC Construction based in Courtenay, BC. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for September 22nd.

Lubor and Wendy will be attending NABOC again this year on September 10 and 11 in Osoyoos. Lubor will be making a lecture presentation on September 10 titled "The Project Development Process-How to Start and Where to Finish"

Lubor inducted to RAIC College of Fellows

Lubor was nominated for Fellowship in the College of Fellows of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) for his pursuit of excellence in architecture and personal contribution and dedication to the profession. He was officially inducted into the College of Fellows on May 29th at a Convocation Ceremony in Winnipeg, BC as part of the RAIC Festival of Architecture.
