Architect: Lubor Trubka, MAIBC, MRAIC
My philosophy in designing a building is to be
practical, realistic and logical. I consider the location and natural
environment and create a style to suit them. Because of my background in
both engineering and architecture, my work incorporates aspects of both.
This school building reconciles modern technology with the traditional
ways that West Coast First Nations used wood. Iron and concrete are
strong but wood can be stronger if used in the right way, at the same
time being environmentally friendly. |
