2006 Project of the Year

The design for redevelopment of an ageing sports complex was the winner in an Internation competition. Upon completion of Phase I construction the project received the Gold Medal for Czech Republic's 2006 Project of the Year. Located in Liberec, north of Prague, the redesigned complex houses a multitude of sports facilities. The scope of work includes:

Master Plan, complete with programming, feasibility studies, and phasing

Phase I, completed in 2006, is comprised of a 6000-seat Multi-Purpose Arena, central multi-use Rotunda, multipurpose gymnasiums, and accommodation of indoor sports such as squash, archery, rifle range, bowling, and support functions.

Detailed design for a turn-key delivery of prefabricated arena roof (68m x 115m) in Engineered Wood.

Concept designs of Phase II, comprising of an indoor soccer and track & field facility (with 75m x115m engineered wood roof structure), aquatic centre with Thallasso-therapy and sport
medicine, hotel, athletes' accommodations, commercial, and multi-level parking.
Designs of all facilities feature Prefabricated Engineered Wood Structures (P.E.W.S.), for turn-key delivery from BC and meet the European standards and
requirements for sustainable “Green Building”
